The 2008 Polzeath student surf kayaking weekend is to be held on the weekend of 10th-12th October at the usual venue of Valley Campsite right in the middle of Polzeath. It's a nice simple weekend of surf kayaking and sociable drinking, with entertainment from Robbie's Roadshow Disco on the Saturday night.

Our usual turnout is usually students from mainly southern uni's, and a few of us from the dirty north. The social element of the weekend is second to none, and is a great opportunity to meet like minded paddlers and catch up with old friends.

About Polzeath surf trip

The Polzeath surf event was started around ten years ago and has been organised by a variety of people ever since. The format of the weekend usually comprises several days camping, surfing and a whole lot of drinking too! A local campsite is used in agreement with the owners, and a nearby pub is used to host the evening's entertainment. Currently, the chaps in charge are John (ex-captain of Leeds Met Uni Kayak Club and ex-member of Bradford Uni Canoe Club) and Steve (ex-captain of Bradford Uni Canoe Club), and in 2006 they raised over £350 for the River Legacy.
